Huzur Vadisi Yoga in Turkey

Huzur Vadisi is my favourite yoga holiday destination and many of my students return nearly as often as I do. The facilities are unique, the valley peaceful, the food excellent and the staff helpful and friendly.
- Simon Low - The Yoga Academy

Accommodation

Thank you for such a wonderful week, so relaxing, I have never felt so calm.  I can't fault the week, it was pretty perfect if you ask me!
~ Emma Franklin, Jewellery Designer

Listed under the guardians top 10 yoga retreats and in the Great Yoga Retreats in the world hard back book, the accommodation is something rather special. The nomadic yurt (which is the Turkish word for home) is a circular domed "tent", made on a wooden trellis frame. There are also some rooms available. Comfortable and spacious, in hot weather the apex of the roof is left open to the sky, the so called "Eye of Heaven" - at night you can see the stars from your bed. Equipped with "proper" beds, electricity, wooden floors and home comforts, it is definitely not camping! White cotton mosquito nets ensure you can sleep in blissful peace free from the usual Mediterranean wildlife. Huzur Vadisi has a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere, which is why its booked up all year!  Due to the nature of the courses, guests tend to share similar interests and values, which creates a friendly, supportive and lively atmosphere which is particularly welcoming for people holidaying on their own. There is also plenty of space to be by yourself and be quiet if you wish.

Cuisine

Excellent teaching and excellent company.  This retreat has been a wonderful experience for me in my time of positive changes - and you have been an important part.  Thank you so much.
~ Marie Clifford, Teacher

Turkish cuisine is recognized as one of the great cuisines of the world and this is reflected in their delicious, mainly vegetarian food based on fresh local produce - fruit, vegetables, pulses, nuts, cheeses and yoghurt. Meat, fish and poultry is provided on (advance) request. People are continually delighted at the amazing variety of dishes - a guest "complained" he hadn't had the same meal twice in a two week holiday.

They even have a Huzur Vadisi Cookbook which was produced by popular demand from our guests, and contains 70 pages of simple, delicious and healthy Turkish recipes, which you can buy before you leave, so that you can bring the Turkish culinary delights to your friends back home.

Testimonials

I would like to say thank you again to provide such wonderful retreat in Morocco. I went for a week but got more than a week’s worth of relaxation and renewal out of it. I loved it so much; I wish we had more time to stay longer. It has been one of the most amazing experiences in my life so far. I don’t know how to describe it in any language, but you really are remarkable. I will come back in future for all of your yoga retreats to practice under your supervision anywhere in the world.
- Amineh Mansoori, Fashion Buyer

The retreat was an amazing experience and it was so nice to practice under your supervision.
Since I have been back, yoga has gone into my weekly workout when work does not get in the way.
I feel stronger since the retreat and actually more confident with my practice.Thank you.
~ Andrea, Costume Designer CSI

Thank you so much for a thoroughly enjoyable week.  I must admit I was apprehensive about joining the group thinking that I would be 'the granny who should have stayed at home'  However, of course after meeting you and the others I quickly realised that age doesn't matter.  The yoga was hard work for me but I am really feeling the benefits now.  The day after arriving home I visited my physiotherapist who said immediately what a difference she saw in my progress.  Now I have to make sure I keep up the exercise.  How I wish you held a class in Bristol."
