Over last Spring Term we sent our suberb teachers into 12 schools in Hackney's Cluster E (a total of 150 children) to coach the children in after school clubs to learn a dance from around the world, including Irish Dance and Indian Dance to Balinese Dance.  It was hugely succesful and the children adored it!  All the work culminated in a performance of our work on April 2nd infront of a full house of 400 of friends and family was fanastic! What an atmosphere!

Dawn Henry, the Cluster E co-ordinator, said:"Schools chose dance as a way of promoting the moral, cultural, mental and physical development of pupils, as well as extending pupils' knowledge and understanding of culture and arts.  After school clubs enabled children to experience and learn about different national dances, the history behind them and the costumes worn by cultures around the world."

Congratulations to all the schools involved and to our teachers - Elkie Phillips, Tas Magloire, Kate Wakeling and Mel Kay.

Watch this space for the next project with Cluster E in October.
